In these two projects developed for Veritas, we applied natural building criteria in environments where it is not usually common: high-traffic urban shopping centres.
The intervention involved the design, planning and construction management of two retail spaces—in Glòries and La Maquinista—adapted to the philosophy of healthy food and environmental respect that defines Veritas.
Retail spaces are subjected to demanding daily use. For this reason, every decision must strike a balance between durability, maintenance, healthiness and energy efficiency.
At Ecohabitats, we designed both spaces prioritising:
Beyond the formal result, the project focused on creating retail spaces aligned with the values of sustainability, health and wellbeing that define both Veritas and Ecohabitats.
Each construction decision sought to improve the user experience, reduce the spaces’ environmental footprint, and demonstrate that natural building also has a place in the retail sector.
Yes. Through a mindful selection of materials, adequate ventilation, responsible energy use and efficient layout, it is possible to create a healthier, more sustainable environment, even in high-traffic spaces.
Greater durability, lower environmental impact, fewer toxins, and better indoor air quality for employees and customers.
A well-designed space, with natural light, smooth flows and pleasant materials, improves product perception and reinforces the brand’s values.
Because it ensures that what is designed is built consistently, controlling materials, waste, processes and the healthiness of the spaces throughout all phases of the project.
